Description

DEVOTIONAL: personal and group

Focus Point: Evangelism

2 Kings 5:1-14 “Evangelizing the Enemy” part 1

  • Vv.1-3 Naaman was blessed by God. In what ways does God bless and use those in today’s world who do not acknowledge him. Why?

  • Vv.4-7 Naaman was given advice from his god-fearing servant girl to seek healing through God’s prophet, Elisha. Where did Naaman and his king put their faith instead?

  • Why is following worldly advice more attractive than godly advice?

  • Why didn’t the king of Israel send Naaman to the prophet Elisha?

  • Vv.8-14 What was Elisha’s reason for healing this unbelieving foreign military commander?

  • Why do you think Naaman doesn’t just obey Elisha and be healed?

  • Why don’t we obey God’s word and enjoy the blessings that come with obedience?

  • What is your biggest lesson from this passage?

SERMON NOTES

“Encounter More”

Luke 7:11-17

Give them more.

                          Give them Jesus.

                                                     that’s Good News.

Here’s how . . .

  • Take the initiative in reaching out to the hurting.

  • Speak words of comfort that are reinforced by meeting a deeper need.

  • Set aside your own concerns when meeting other people’s needs.

  • By your actions, spread the Good News that an encounter with Jesus has changed their life.

Remember: Depend on Jesus, not yourself to meet others needs.
