• Deuteronomy 8:2- 6 Why did God allow His people such hard times?

• Think through where you are tempted the most. What is at the root of your temptation. How can you overcome?

SERMON NOTES

Tackling Temptation  Luke 4:1- 13

Vv. 1- 2 God disciplines and prunes us to help us to trust and depend on Him so that we can become useful and be a blessing to others.

Vv. 3- 4 When you trust God to guide you, then you can join Him in suffering and serving others by His strength.

Vv. 5- 8 Trust Him and He will not fail you in the desert, even when your emotions and pain tell you to serve yourself or someone else.

Vv. 9- 12 We are called to be in the world but not of the world. This means that we will suffer the results of sin, evil, but in the end we will overcome if we trust Him.

V.13 The Deceiver will flee when you holdfast to Jesus, but be sure, he will return. Don’t give-up, but claim the victory in Jesus for yourself and others.
